    About the role

As a Delivery Lead at dxw, you’ll take day‑to‑day responsibility for leading client‑facing delivery teams and helping them do their best work. You’ll combine strong delivery management with empathetic leadership, creating the conditions for multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality, user‑centred digital services.

You’ll work closely with clients and dxw colleagues to form a single, collaborative team, keeping everyone aligned around clear outcomes, product vision and user needs. You’ll support teams to work in agile ways, continuously improving how they operate and delivering at a sustainable pace.

Delivery Leads at dxw usually report into a Delivery Principal and are a core part of our delivery community.

We offer a broad salary range with this role to welcome candidates at different stages of senior experience. Your starting salary will reflect the depth of your delivery leadership, client management background, and hands-on agile experience.

    Key responsibilities

    Leading delivery teams

    • Lead multidisciplinary, agile teams to deliver digital projects and services for public and third sector clients.
    • Take responsibility for the day‑to‑day delivery of one or two projects at a time, balancing scope, time, budget and quality.
    • Keep teams focused on outcomes and value, ensuring work is driven by user needs and product vision.
    • Facilitate regular team ceremonies, such as stand‑ups, planning sessions and retrospectives, to support effective delivery and continuous improvement.

    Agile ways of working

    • Support teams to self‑organise and work at a sustainable pace.
    • Apply a range of agile and lean tools and techniques pragmatically, adapting them to the context of each team and client.
    • Help clients understand and adopt agile principles and practices within their own organisations.
    • Encourage reflection and learning, using evidence from delivery to improve how teams work.

    Working with clients and stakeholders

    • Build strong, trusted relationships with clients and act as a key point of contact on delivery.
    • Manage client expectations and communicate progress, risks and issues clearly and transparently.
    • Make timely, pragmatic decisions that balance the needs of the team, the project and the client.
    • Contribute to sales bids and proposals, and help maintain long‑term client relationships.

    Contribution to dxw

    • Work closely with Account Managers to escalate risks and issues where appropriate and align on delivery approach.
    • Contribute to dxw’s wider delivery practice, sharing learning and improving how we work.
    • Take part in internal initiatives and projects, such as diversity and inclusion work, sustainability efforts or capability building.

    Expectations of the role

    • This is a billable role, with most time (typically 4–5 days per week) spent on client‑facing delivery work.
    • Projects will vary in size and complexity, often aligned to the phases in the GOV.UK Service Manual.
    • You’ll usually work on one or two projects at a time.
    • You’ll be expected to work flexibly and collaborate closely with colleagues and clients across the UK.
