dxw aims to fulfil its business mission of delivering digital products and services while protecting the environment.
We’re committed to reducing our impact on the planet
dxw operates in an energy intensive industry. We know how important it is for us to embed sustainable ways of working. We also know how important it is to achieve this collectively, by influencing change amongst the organisations we work with.
We implement an environmental management system (EMS) to allow us to understand, measure and reduce any negative environmental impacts, and make positive improvements. This system has been accredited by external audit to the ISO14001 standard. We have an EMS manual, regular staff training, a dedicated Earth team with senior management oversight, and regular audits to ensure our effectiveness. We conduct regular carbon emission calculations, monitor the impact our suppliers cause and follow a carbon reduction plan.
dxw has been Net Zero since 2022. Net Zero is the reduction to zero, and offsetting where this is not possible, of all greenhouse gas emissions by the company.
We’re not just thinking about our impact as a business, but as employees, each with a responsibility to take action to reduce our individual impact.
Safeguarding the environment links strongly with the wellbeing of people, our staff, clients and the wider community, as reflected in our social value statement.
Our dxw Earth team
We have an internal group who meet regularly to talk about how dxw can respond to the climate and ecological crisis as an organisation and reduce the impact on our planet.
So far this group has:
- calculated our carbon emissions
- calculated our carbon footprint
- helped dxw become carbon neutral
- advised staff on making ethical and sustainable choices outside of their work at dxw
- helped dxw through audits to achieve ISO ISO14001 EMS certification
Carbon emissions
We measure the company’s carbon footprint and offset our emissions annually. We’re committed to continuing to do this and being net zero by 2050.
We have an established Earth team who focus on how we need to change and reduce our impact. This group has worked out our carbon reduction plan, ensuring it’s feasible and enables genuine carbon reduction.
