    About us

dxw works with the public and third sectors to create services and products that improve lives.

We’ve been around since 2008 and worked on lots of projects that have made a real difference – things like helping to track aid spending and looking at how to improve digital collaboration between local authorities.

dxw is employee-owned and staff have an important voice in the direction of the company.

    About the role

As a People Generalist, your role will be varied, involving a number of responsibilities related to our people. Here’s a summary of what you’ll be up to:

    • Recruitment: You may be required to run end-to-end hiring campaigns; from creating job descriptions, to sourcing candidates and coordinating interviews.
    • Project delivery: You’ll support our People team to deliver longer-term, strategic HR initiatives, such as new policy implementation and L&D projects.
    • Employee relations (ER): You’ll provide formal and informal ER support to the business where necessary. This could be managing a grievance or being involved in ongoing absence cases to ensure the right support is available for our staff.
    • People Operations: This could include managing working pattern change requests, addressing sickness cases, overseeing sabbatical requests, handling parental leave processes, facilitating salary increases and promotions, and helping ensure smooth onboarding and offboarding for our people.
    • General administrative tasks: During busy periods, other support may be needed on an ad-hoc basis. For instance, pulling reports from our HRIS and helping to manage our volume of purchasing requests.

    About you

We’re looking for someone who is adaptable, enjoys being part of a team and is ready to manage a wide variety of tasks. Whilst we all have different approaches, we expect everyone in our team to be open-minded, compassionate and able to listen before acting.

You’ll have a broad HR background, including employee relations and recruitment experience. For example, you’ll feel just as comfortable running a grievance procedure as a recruitment campaign.

It’s essential that you have the ability to complete operational tasks autonomously, such as parental leave processes and implementing our sickness policy. As we’re a small team, you must also demonstrate a willingness to provide admin support when required.

If you have an interest in delivering longer-term People initiatives, you’ll be given the opportunity to support with project work. This often involves collaboration with the wider business, so it’s important that you have good communication and stakeholder management skills.

Last but not least, we’re a team that is big on data. You’ll need to be able to use and present this effectively to help solve problems and support your decisions.
